Andy Waters’ BIG Tench!

Thank you to Lowestoft, Suffolk angler Andy Waters for another super BIG Tench photo – this 9lb 11oz beauty!  Andy fished at Norfolk’s Bawburgh Lakes, and explained how hard it has been this Spring (most Tench specialists have found it tough with the cold, wet changeable weather the past couple of months) after having to endure a very long frustrating period without a bite.  However, it was well worth the wait as all came good when an exciting, screaming run finally occurred, and after a spirited fight a really big tench was safely in the net!

This is yet another specimen Tench to fall to a Drennan Distance Specialist Tench & Bream 12ft 2lb rod! Andy used a 50g method feeder, a short 10lb ESP Soft Ghost Fluorocarbon hooklink to a size 12 Super Specialist Barbel hook carrying 3 artificial buoyant Caster, which offsets the weight of the hook.  Andy incorporated a sprinkling of small pellets and caster into his method mix and quite understandably describes himself as one happy angler!

The Drennan 50g Method Feeders feature two weighted vanes and one lightweight one, so the feeder always falls the right way up.
