St Neots specimen angler Paul Elt has taken advantage of the recent mild December weather by bagging a number of fine Winter Barbel.
Paul fished the Ouse system and opted to use a maggot feeder with flavoured red maggots, and then cleverly constructed a special hair-rig of maggots to a size 10 Drennan Specialist Barbel hook. Opting a mobile approach, he has recently bagged a number of fish to over 10lb, all landed on 12lb Supplex mainline and his Martin Bowler Specialist Barbel 12ft 1.75lb rod.
