Robbie Northman 7lb 10oz Chub

“Suddenly felt a thump on the rod..”

Robbie Northman banked himself a new personal best in the shape of this lovely 7lb 10oz chub on a recent lure session!

He told us “Summer fishing is more commonly known as a summer tactic for chub and very few anglers target them in this way during the colder months but I love my lure fishing so will continue it through the winter period.

On a recent trip to the River Bure in Norfolk, I found the river to be in perfect condition during a fairly mild spell after weeks of snow. I was working my small lure through a bankside slack when I suddenly felt a thump on the rod. I struck instantly and the fish took off with power and I could tell it was a big fish. On the scales it went 7lb 10oz which was a new pb, beating my previous by 8oz.”
