Paul Howarth 3lb 3oz Rudd

Cambridgeshire is, in the eyes of many anglers, the big-rudd capital of the UK, with its vast network of rivers and drains producing specimen fish season after season. But the county’s stillwaters also hold a few special fish, as Paul Howarth found during a trip to a private lake in the region, where landed this specimen of 3lb 3oz.

It’s Paul’s first-ever over the magic 3lb mark and capped a session in which he and his friend John Turton landed numerous other fish over 2lb. Isleham-based Paul opted for feeder tactics, using a 10mm salty squid flavoured boilie hookbait. For added attraction, he dipped this in salty squid liquid, with the combo fished on a size 10 hook alongside a cage feeder.

Well done Paul!
