After a rather remarkable run of big chub at the end of last season, Essex angler Paul Faint has picked up where he left off, landing this 7lb 9oz fish from the River Lea.
It’s his local venue, but on this session, Paul headed to a stretch new to him. He didn’t complicate his tactics, opting for an all-time classic chub bait: bread. He squeezed some liquidised feed into a feeder and used a lump of bread flake on a size six hook.
