Salisbury specimen angler Matt Jackson with a 2lb 12oz Hampshire Avon Roach, winning him a weekly Drennan Cup award in last week’s Angling Times.

Matt fished one of his local stretches of the famous river in search of a first 2lb running water Roach, and achieved it in some style with this beautiful, but battlescarred fish. Matt opted to fish a maggot hookbait on a size 14 Drennan Wide Gape Specialist hook to a 3lb Supplex hooklink, fished over a baited area of liquidized bread and CC Moore’s Intense Hemp.
