Kevin Palmer 3lb 2oz Roach

“The tip just crept over, and I hit into what I knew was a big fish..”

It’s safe to say that the lockdown restrictions put a hold on various anglers plans with the only fishing available being local waters. That certainly paid off in style for Kevin Palmer, who banked this 3lb 2oz roach from the Bristol Avon, not far from his home.

He told us “Usually, I’d be on the larger Hampshire Avon, but after a subtle bite on feeder fished bread, I hooked a new personal best. The tip just crept over, and I hit into what I knew was a big fish. I’m not religious, but when I saw this one surface I started praying! It was a special moment netting it, especially after losing some big roach at the net in the past.”
