Gary Newman is no stranger to big fish, with many big specimens to his name along with various trips abroad in search of some true monsters, however sometimes, places a little closer to home can throw up a few surprises as he found out towards the back end of the season on the River Thames.
Fishing a stretch he hadn’t fished before, hoping to get away from the crowds, Gary opted to fish some home-made milk protein boilies fished on a size 10 hook alongside a small pva bag of chopped boilies to tempt this lovely 7lb 9oz chub. If that wasn’t enough, Gary also banked himself a 15lb 14oz barbel too!
