Brream Make Dominate Weights On Bargate Drain

Division 1 National wasn’t enough fishing for one weekend, Drennan RAF’s Baz Bright decided to fish a pairs match on the Bargate Drain in Boston.

Paired with Steven Reid, the talk was 4lb each should see them frame if not win the event.

Drawing peg 89, he set his stall out to fish pinkies and squatt at 7.5 and 13m along with a 14.5m worm line for eels. After quickly amassing a few pounds of small silvers, word quickly spread that a few bream were being caught along the match length. As a result, Baz introduced more worm to his eel line and more feed to his 13m line and he soon landed his first bream, and at 6lb it was well worth catching.

Baz weighed in 66lb, good enough for 2nd in his section and 3rd overall. An amazing individual weight of 119lb won the match with 71lb in 2nd place.

Unfortunately for Baz, Steve drew bang in the middle of a row of pegs that were nearly devoid of any fish, let alone bream. With DNWs and ounces around him, his 1lb 11oz left them 5th overall.
