Welsh International Lee Edwards Takes Top Spot on the Kennet & Avon Canal

Drennan Oxford match team had their last official practice recently for the Winter League Semi-Final on the Kennet & Avon Canal near Marlborough, and with 90 anglers competing, including a number of International anglers, a decent draw would be crucial.

Welsh International Lee Edwards showed why he is regarded as one of the best anglers in the country by taking top spot, weighing in 39lb of skimmers and a good Perch. The backing weights were excellent, with several weights over 20lb and many more double figure weights; you can see why the Kennet & Avon is regarded by many as one of the best canals in the country.

The Semi-Final is to be held on the 1st April, and with many top match teams taking part, including the mighty Daiwa Dorking, a decent draw and a good performance will be needed to qualify for the Final!

Many anglers use a Drennan Canal Waiter for organizing their bait & bits and pieces to hand on the towpath, making best use of limited space. Click here to find out more.
