This 15lb catch on the third day sealed victory for Bradley Gibbons.
This 15lb 2oz catch on the third day sealed victory for Bradley Gibbons.

The Drennan Team England U23, Daiwa Dorking and Maver-backed angler made absolutely no mistakes from two end peg draws on Day 1 and Day 2 with section-winning 15lb and 16lb 8oz catches. The rising star then followed that up with a 3rd in section on a very windy final day with 15lb 2oz of roach on the whip.

No fewer than five anglers were just a point behind, but it was England Veteran and Daiwa Dorking captain Steve Sanders who claimed second spot with a big 67lb 15oz total weight, ahead of Neil Richards on 51b 10oz.

The three sections at Culham, Abingdon and Appleford were in great form with plenty of fish throughout. As expected, the bream fed best on the first day with several 30lb+ catches recorded. Silverfish were still the main target with lots of double-figure nets of roach, dace and bleak each day. A special mention must go to John Weedon who also managed nine tench for 26lb on the final day!

Over £1,500 in prizes were donated by Drennan International and DH Angling and it was another finely run event by Paul Glenfield, John Beesley and a dedicated team of helpers.
