Travelling from his home in South Wales to a stillwater in the midlands paid off in style for Terry Theobald, who landed this 3lb 1oz roach on his second trip to the venue.
On his first trip he’d had an excellent hit of fish, landing nine roach in total with eight over 2lb, but it was on his next trip that he took things to another level. No fewer than 14 roach graced his net, ten of which topped the 2lb mark, as well as this 3lb 1oz best. Maggot feeders fished on heli-rigs, using short hooklinks of 5lb line to size 14 hooks, on which two maggots were hooked, were the winning rig.
