These are famous Coventry specimen angler Phil Smith’s new E-Sox Piker Bait 12ft 3lb+ Rods set up and ready for a take.

That particular day failed to produce anything memorable, but a subsequent trip to Bristol Pike mecca Chew Valley Reservoir resulted in Phil scooping his landing net under this cracking 25lb 11oz specimen!

A floatfished Mackerel deadbait from a boat in 22ft of water was the winning strategy, the fish being landed after a good scrap on 15lb ESP Syncro mainline.
