Specimen angling legend Phil Smith from Coventry was presented with the Gordon Scott Award by the Barbel Society recently.

The trophy was instigated to keep Gordon’s memory alive, and is presented each year to the person who has made the most significant contribution to the Barbel Society.

Phil is actually a founder member of the Society, which was formed in 1995.
