Over the last three seasons, Peter Wade has been targeting crucian carp at a midlands park lake where he’s had good results, with fish to 3lb gracing the bank. However, on a recent trip he blew his previous best out the water with this superb 4lb 5oz specimen.
He had been using open-end feeders, packed with liquidised bread and hemp, and using a piece of punched meat on the hook. However, on the spur of the moment, he decided to change to the ever-popular method feeder with a yellow wafter hookbait, on which he landed the four-pounder.
