Paul Elt 15lb 8oz Zander

All rounder Paul Elt enjoyed a superb day afloat on a midlands stillwater recently, where he smashed his zander PB by over 2lb with this 15lb 8oz specimen.

He was fishing with his son, Jordan, and employed vertical jigging tactics in a strong westerly wind. The conditions made the boat hard to handle, but eventually he located a shoal of prey fish in 55ft of water. He’d just dropped his jig down, and with it around a foot off bottom, he received a strong hit, which he initially thought was from a pike. However, when a very big zander appeared he loosened the clutch to avoid any sudden lunges and the big pred was netted smoothly.

Well done Paul!
