Thanks to Nathan Walter for this wonderful Grayling photo caught trotting with a Matchpro Ultralight 14ft rod.
Nathan fished the upper reaches of the River Wye and found conditions tough with bites few and far between – but still left with this highlight – a 2lb 3oz ‘Lady Of the Stream’. As you can see by Nathan’s attire, it was very cold with a biting easterly wind!
Successful strategy was to trot red maggots with a Drennan Wire Avon float on 3.2lb Floatfish line.
