With bright and warm conditions that evening, he knew it’d be his last time targeting the species before spring got into full swing. One of his rods was fished with a link legered prawn and, whilst on the other rod he fished another prawn beneath a pole float. Both baits had been soaked in Dynamite Baits Predator Plus liquid, and he loose fed maggots over the top.

It was an hour before he had a take, however at 6pm Matt’s float slid slowly away and he hooked a fish he initially assumed was a carp. When he saw it roll on the surface though, Matt knew he’d connected with a large perch and managed to retain his composure before slipping the net under a fish of 4lb 8oz.
