Martin Phipps of Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths with a net of carp which gave him 5th place overall in the second round of the Oxford Winter League at Oakfield Fishery in Buckinghamshire.

Martin was drawn on Red Kite lake and finished with a final weight of 43lb 11oz; a mixture of small carp and F1s. He fished the Acolyte Pole and alternated between lines at 13mtr and 7mtrs, feeding micro pellet with a few 4mm, and fishing double dead red on the hook.

“The fish fight well in this fishery and it’s important to land everything hooked as bites can be at a premium this time of the year” explained Martin.
