A cheesy garlic pellet was all it took to tempt one of the biggest barbel reported this season, after Jamie Dipple landed this 19lb 8oz fish from the River Lea.
The Cheshunt angler was fishing with his dad and has caught plenty of barbel from the Wye in the past. But this specimen is in a totally different league, with it putting up a great fight for nearly 10 minutes, despite his use of a 2.5lb test curve barbel rod.
