Jamie Cartwright’s Autumn Bream & Carp

Northampton Specimen Group member Jamie Cartwright with a superb Bream of 15lb 6oz – setting an impressive new personal best for the species!

Jamie made the most of the mild Autumn weather with a string of quality fish – also taking Bream of 12lb 8oz, 11lb 15oz and 11lb 4oz recently, plus this terrific bonus 32lb 2oz Common Carp!

Tactics have been to fish balanced artificial corn stacks over a carpet of corn, pellets, mixed particles, dead maggots and crushed and whole 10mm CC Moore’s Odyssey boilies.

All the fish came on Drennan Distance Specialist Tench & Bream 12ft 2lb rods with ESP Syncro mainline – and Jamie tells us the carp “went like a train”! At the sharp end he used an ESP Curve-Shanx hook with critically balanced artificial sweetcorn.
