Tench are famed for being a morning-feeding fish, and James Crosby showed exactly why when he had no fewer than 16 takes, capped by this specimen of 11lb 1oz.
James, who caught the current British Record barbel last winter, was fishing a Kent stillwater where he targeted the near side of a bar 35 yards out. He opted for maggot feeder tactics, and alongside the eleven-pounder, other highlights that trip included fish of 9lb 1oz and 8lb 10oz.
