It’s been a tricky spring for James Champkin on the tench front, but after locating the fish he enjoyed a session to remember, landing fourteen including three doubles, capped by this 10lb 14oz specimen.
He’s been fishing a big and challenging gravel pit where, after struggling for many sessions, he decided to simply walk the pit one evening, looking for signs. After a few hours, he managed to find a few fish in a swim he’d never fished before. Amongst thick weed, he located a few features and deployed maggot feeders, fished helicopter style, with popped-up maggot hookbaits over a med of hemp, chopped worms, micro pellets, and Dynamite Baits Sweet Tiger liquid. His three biggest fish weighed 10lb 14oz, 10lb 13oz, and 10lb 3oz.
Well done James!
