Jack Turner, 33lb 13oz Pike

“The fish made some savage lunges for the snags”
Having only recently started pike fishing, it didn’t take long for Norfolk angler Jack Turner to land the fish of a lifetime in the shape of this 33lb 13oz specimen.
Targeting a river in the heart of his home county, Jack and his cousin, Francis, made the 04:30am start and were greeted to a heavy frost. It didn’t take long for his float-fished smelt to be picked up and once he hit into it, an incredible battle in the margins quickly followed, with the fish making savage lunges for the snags.
Eventually, he landed the beast, and at 33lb 13oz, it left Jack in awe. He noted the gnarled and characterful appearance of the fish, that pictures simply don’t do justice.
Well done Jack!
