This small perch really did have eyes too big for its belly, taking the Pearlescent White E-Sox Dropshot lobworm just on dusk from a local canal.
This was one of several perch along with a few pike caught by Drennan’s Richard Fox whilst dropshotting for a couple of hours with the new E-Sox tackle. It just goes to show even the smallest fish will attack a lure much bigger than itself.

When it comes to the best bait for a perch it has to be a big juicy lobworm, so these perfect imitations are extremely realistic. These measure 12.5cm (5in) long and are best fished just lightly nicked onto the hook, giving maximum movement in the water.
