A quick after-work session lead to this impressive double-figure barbel for Drennan Team England’s Steve Hemingray. 

The fish was caught during a quick feeder session on the River Trent in Nottingham.

“I started on pellets without any signs, but as the river was low and clear with little flow, I decided to switch to maggots,” the England star commented.

“I used a 50g Kamasan block-end feeder with 10lb Feeder & Method Mono, a 0.20mm (7lb) Double Strength hooklength and a size 14 Super Specialist baited with three maggots. The fish was in great condition and put up a great scrap. I didn’t have any scales to weigh the fish, but it must have been at least 12lb.”
