London’s Ed Zneimer sent us this photo of a very interesting 16lb river carp, which he caught from a club stretch of the River Lea in Hertfordshire on opening day, June 16th.
Ed baited up a swim on a narrow stretch of the river adjacent to some Lilies, and observed it bubbling like a Jacuzzi – before his rod bucked over and the hooked fish went crazy!
The carp accepted a CC Moore’s Odyssey XXX boilie, presented on a 10lb Drennan Sink Braid hooklink. “On the advice of Martin Bowler, newly loaded 10lb Supplex was used” commented Ed. “It really was a lovely carp for a small river”.
