Lifelong carp angler Daniel Stables fancied a new challenge this year, and succeeded in catching his target barbel, landing this 18lb 6oz fish three times in a week.
He told us “With dreadful weather, I was held up in my mission, however when I finally got onto the banks in late February, I had a slightly strange experience. On sessions between Feb 20th and 27th, I landed this 18lb 6oz barbel three times! On the first two occasions I wasn’t able to get a proper weight, as I only have small pocket scales, but the third time round my friend, with quality scales, weighed it for me. I was up all night thinking why, how, and what had happened that week!”
