Norfolk specialist angler Chris Turnbull has sent us this nice sunlit winter photo of a river Perch caught whilst lure fishing on the Broads with a 7ft 1½lb E-Sox Spinflex rod.
Chris has his mind set on a big Perch this Winter, and has spent time on both stillwaters and rivers, fishing both baits and lures in pursuit of his prey! Chris teamed the Spinflex rod with an FD 4000 reel loaded with braid, and using a variety of Soft Baits and Jig Head lures, managed several decent Perch to just over 2lb. On the day Chris found a 5 inch grub bounced along the bottom on a 10g Jighead to be the most effective.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the day and fell in love with the little rod!” remarked Chris. “plans are already being hatched to rig up an 8ft 2lb E-Sox Spinflex rod with some larger Jigs to give me more options!”
