Chris Taylor’s Gravel Pit Tench

Despite the April Showers, big Tench are feeding! Chris Taylor proved this when caught this massive male Tench, which weighed in at 10lb 3oz from a Kent gravel pit, winning a weekly Drennan Cup award in the Angling Times recently.

Chris fished a three-day session and fooled the fish with the aid of a hair-rigged artificial caster presentation, presented on a size 10 Kamasan B980 hook on a short helicopter hooklink of 10lb Drennan Sinkbraid.   This was cast over a bed of hemp, wheat, casters, dead maggots and pellets.
