Joe Roberts was as surprised as anyone when he slid the net under this double-figure carp, caught on an ultra-light 0.9lb (0.075mm) Supplex Fluorocarbon hooklength!
The England Veteran and Kamasan Starlets team man caught the impressive fish at Meadowlands Fishery while shooting a magazine article. The light tackle was actually intended for roach and skimmers, of which he caught plenty during the session, but it didn’t stop him netting this all-important bonus fish to add extra excitement to the day.
“I’m not sure what it is about fluorocarbon line, as it can be difficult to tie yet unbelievably strong in the water. I am definitely a convert, especially on days when perfect presentation really matters,” he commented.
