With an important semi final coming up a healthy 73 anglers lined the towpath. Despite being very clear, the average weight per man was over 5lb and the top seven anglers all put over double figures of fish on the scales!

Tony Hobbs was Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths’ top performer in fifth place with a 12lb 2oz catch consisting of a mixture of bonus perch and small roach. In sixth place was Chris Telling (pictured) who also caught a specimen-sized perch to go with 160 smaller fish on bloodworm.

The match was won by Simon Drew (Oakwood Angling) who made the most of a fancied end peg at the Cottages section. He had skimmers and big perch over lobworms and casters for a very impressive 19lb 12oz winning catch.
