Justin caught these fish in little streams near his home in South Australia – many of which dry to a series of isolated pools in high summer. Justin looks for areas around 8 feet deep, and float fishes a sweetcorn / maggot cocktail on a size 10 Drennan Carp Match hook. In addition to the Tench, Justin has caught some bonus Carp, plus a number of large Eels!

Having now used the rod for some time I think it is perfect for the Tench encountered here in Australia. It has also handled Carp to 6kg (around 13lb) so far, in fact as long as no more than 4lb line is used the rod is fine for most coarse fish encountered locally!” Justin told us.
