..with many specimen perch and pike to his name and it was no change during a trip to an old, clear gravel pit in his home county of Leicestershire, as he landed this impressive 5lb 6oz perch.

He had the fish on lure tactics, using a 7.5cm-long Savage Gear shad, and hooked it on one of his first casts of the day. Although it turned out to be his only fish of the trip, with it being so big, he certainly didn’t mind.
