The ever consistent Alan Stagg, Media Executive at Gardner Tackle, kindly shared this super 27lb Pike with us – which he caught recently at a large gravel pit.

The big pike set a new personal best and fell to a small Sardine bait cast around 25 yards to a drop-off feature Alan had located.

Alan’s set up comprised 30lb Gardner Kinetic braided mainline through to a simple running ledger rig with a 3oz lead on an Enterprise Tackle Safe Lead Clip.

At the sharp end he used size 4 semi barbed E-Sox Extra Strong Pike Trebles on 28lb Super Trace wire.
