Using a dropshot rig with a floating creature bait presented 12 inches off bottom, Trevor held the rod high, giving very occasional gentle taps to add a flutter of movement. The fish measured just under 50cm and caps a memorable spell for Trevor, who has landed six four-pounders over recent weeks from three different areas of the Thames around Oxford. The same tactic has produced all of his fish – if you’re a lure angler looking forward to next season, it could well be one to add to your armoury.
