This winter has been a special one on the perch front for Finn Lewis who, after landing a stack of large fish, went one further when he slipped the net under a PB-equalling fish of 5lb 2oz.

Fishing at Grafham Water, Finn headed out in a biting north easterly wind and knew the day would be a challenging one. Starting near the damn wall but with no action forthcoming, he headed elsewhere and rang the changes with his lures.
Eventually, whilst fishing a dropshot in deep water he felt sharp tap and connected with what he knew was either a trout or a very large perch.
As the boat bounced on the choppy reservoir and gusts of bitter wind hit the boat, the fish ripped line from his reel. When he first caught sight of the fish, Finn knew it was something truly special, and after a few more lunges, he had it in the net.
The specimen is his 31st fish over the 4lb mark, and his third-ever ‘five’.
Well done Finn!
