Andy Waters 11lb 7oz Tench

After a relatively hard spring tench fishing on his Norfolk syndicate lake, Andy Waters’ efforts were rewarded in spectacular fashion, as he landed this 11lb 7oz fish alongside five nine-pounders!

A month of cold winds had impacted the sport, but with a pressure drop and a south westerly blowing in, Andy positioned himself on the lake to take full advantage.Fishing maggot feeders on heli rigs, he was into fish from his second morning, with the first he landed a 9lb 4oz specimen. This was followed up by a few smaller tench, before fish of 9lb 3oz and 9lb 10oz came to the net. His next bite was from an altogether more powerful fish, and when he saw the huge frame of a big tench coming through the water, he knew he was attached to something special. At 11lb 7oz it’s a new PB for Andy, and the next day, he added others of 9lb 12oz and 9lb 11oz. What a session!

Well done Andy!
