Aaron Marguet 3lb 3oz Rudd

After a run of blanks in search of rudd, Aaron Marguet managed to find a few large fish holding up by some reeds on a southern stillwater..

Often, he targets them with banded pellets or small boilies, but given his lack of success lately, he decided to try corn, to which he added a pinch of fine pink Himalayan salt. It’s an additive he’s used for years, particularly in spring for pre-spawning fish.

The change certainly worked, as the fish soon showed interest in his feed.
Casting a float fished grain over the top and drawing it gradually back towards the rudd, it slid away almost instantly, and after a good battle Aaron had what he was sure to be a new PB in the net. At 3lb 3oz, it was just that!

Well done Aaron!
