52 Is Dave's Magic Number!

How many of you have fished three times in three consecutive days and caught exactly the same weight each time? This amazing feat has just happened to Drennan Bordon team man Dave Lewis!

52 appears to be Dave Lewis’ magic number!

First off was the Gold Valley Lakes Friday Open where Dave scored a section win with 52lb on Syndicate Lake. That consisted of eight carp on 11mm pellet and a ‘double’ down the edge on double corn using an AS4 0.4g float to 0.20mm Supplex main line, a 0.18mm bottom to a size 14 Margin Carp hook.

The next day, Dave was on a Willow Park Open and drew another good swim in the shape of Peg 27 on the small lake. He once again weighed 52lb, this time consisting of 12 carp up in the water for a match win. He used a 0.3g Crystal Dibber on 0.20mm line to a 0.16mm bottom, pinging 6mm pellets. The only downside was a 5lb carp jumping out of his keepnet, which will hopefully teach him not to have them so low to the water in future!

The hat-trick of 52lbs was completed on Sunday at Broadlands Fishery for the 5th round of the Avon Valley Summer League. This time he caught 40lb of ‘stockies’ and 12lb of skimmers for another 52lb, a lake win and 2nd overall! Chopped worm and caster did the damage, catching down the middle using a 0.3g AS1 float on 0.16mm Supplex to a 0.12mm bottom.

Apparently, if Dave weighs in yet another 52lb on his next match (this Wednesday at Marsh Farm) he has promised to run around the complex naked!
