Roach Dominate Final Round Of Oxford Summer League

The sixth and final round of the Oxford Summer League was fished on the Thames at Medley and Folly this week and despite the river being low and clear, roach again dominated the individual weights.

1st: John Taylor (Sensas A4) – 29lb 14oz.

John drew at the bottom of the green bank on Medley and fished the waggler with tares over loose fed hemp to catch a brilliant net of roach. “If it was not for a large amount of floating weed I’m sure I would have had over 40lb,” added John.

2nd: Steve Townsend (Drennan Oxford Yellow) – 21lb 14oz.

Steve drew the in form peg at Folly, just outside the cottages at the top of ‘Coca Cola’ bay where he caught roach and perch at 7m on casters over groundbait.

3rd: Mick Denton (Drennan Oxford Yellow) – 17lb 7oz.

Mick drew the bottom end peg on Medley and caught perch on the pole at 11m and then roach on the waggler using tares over groundbait.

4th: Colin Perry (Drennan Oxford Blue) 15lb 10oz.

Colin drew two above the mud on Medley and caught roach once again on waggler and tares.

5th: Ryan Seymour (Drennan Oxford Blue) – 14lb 8oz
