The Belgian international and Drennan area manager topped the 120-angler field with two section wins on the river at Ivot-Ramet and Ramioul.

The venue fished extremely difficult in the three-hour heats, but Andy used all of his experience to catch 1.71kg in the first match, which was the second best weight in the morning. He then followed that up in the afternoon with a 750g section win from an even tougher area.

Andy also won the National Championship in 2010 on the Charleroi-Brussels Canal and was 3rd overall in 2001 on the Leuven-Mechelen Canal.

National Championship Result:

  • 1st Andy Berteyn 2pts (2.46kg)
  • 2nd Kurt Dessers 4pts (1.79kg)
  • 3rd Pascal Henneau 5pts (1.28kg)
  • 4th Lowie Bruno 6pts (3.25kg)
